| Lisbon enjoys a mild, temperate climate influenced by both Atlantic and Mediterranean weather currents, with short winters, and long, hot summers. Between December and March temperatures average a pleasant 13°C with plenty of uplifting winter sunshine. However, most of Lisbon’s rainfall also occurs in the winter months. Due to its Atlantic coastal location mist and drizzle are not uncommon in Lisbon in this period, averaging over 100mm of rain in the wettest months, (December and March). Spring offers mild weather and pleasant temperatures punctuated by cool Atlantic breezes, blending effortlessly into summer, where average temperatures of 27°C are the norm. A definite Lisbon highlight are the languid, lazy summer evenings, where the narrow streets of the Portuguese capital come alive and the terrace cafés bustle with night time energy. |
